ADMIRE MARS dominated the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes

Admire Mars

Japan Racing Horse Association has produced the 2018 champion 2-year-old colt.
The colt by Daiwa Major, Admire Mars claimed the 70th running of the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, the 2-year-old champion race, at Hanshin on Sunday and stretched his winning streak to four.
Settled at third position just behind the favorite unbeaten filly, Gran Alegria (by Deep Impact), the Mirco Demuro ridden Admire Mars started to make a move before the final turn, caught up the filly in the top of the stretch and took the lead at 300m remaining. He found another gear in the last strides to pull away to secure the two-length win ahead of the ninth pick Kurino Gaudi (by Screen Hero).
Tested only on 1600m in his previous three outings, Admire Mars won the maiden race as his horse race debut in June and the following LR-Chukyo Nisai Stakes in July. He returned from four-month break and showed brilliant burst of speed to grab his first graded stakes win in the G2 Daily Hai Nisai Stakes at Kyoto on November 10 latest.
Admire Mars is trained by Ritto Training Centre-based Yasuo Tomomichi. His dam Via Medici was sold at the 2014 Arqana December Sale, and Admire Mars, himself, was sold at the 2017 JRHA Select Yearling Sale for 52,000,000yen, and bought by Mr. Riichi Kondo.
