Japan collects three silver medals at Hong Kong

While the horses representing the home nation are so strong and dominated the international event at Sha Tin on December 9th, Team Japan fought bravely and collected three silver medals.
Lys Gracieux(JPN), four-year-old filly by Heart's Cry(JPN), owned by Carrot Club and trained by Yoshito Yahagi, delivered the strongest challenge at homestretch of G1/Hong Kong Vase over 2,400m and hit the front at a furlong out, however, Exultant(IRE), one of the best stayers in Hong Kong, fought back and wore down Lys Gracieux by neck. Eziyra(IRE), one of eight runners traveled from Europe, was third, finishing two and half lengths behind Lys Gracieux, and Waldgeist(GB), the 29 to 10 favorite trained by Andre Fabre, finished 5th.
